What do I need to do before I begin downloading the software package?

Insert a blank diskette into the a: drive before downloading Form ADV. Make sure the diskette is blank so both files Part I and Part II of Form ADV fit on one diskette. After entering your credit card information, do not forget to download both Part I and Part II of Form ADV.

Is your Form ADV software the most up to date version in compliance with regulators?

Our Form ADV software is the latest form released by the SEC. The expiration date on our Form ADV software is 2-28-2011.

Part I of Form ADV has 2 different versions. Which form do I download?

If you are an SEC regulated advisory firm, you download Part IA of Form ADV. If you are regulated at the state level, you download part IB of Form ADV. We encourage you to download both IA and IB of Form ADV if you are not sure what version you need. Part 2 of Form ADV is the same version for both SEC and state-regulated advisory firms.

Can I post Electronic Form ADV Part II to my website for clients to download?
Electronic Form ADV Part II can be used as brochureware on your website. Complete Electronic Form ADV Part II with the information unique to your investment advisory firm and upload it to the server where your website is being hosted. You can create a hyperlink to your Electronic Form ADV Part II and prospects can automatically download the information instead of having to print out copies in your office.  A .pdf file can also be created (see question below) to post to your website.

Can I create an Adobe Acrobat^© .pdf file using electronic Form ADV?

Provided you have a complete version of Adobe Acrobat^© loaded onto your computer a .pdf file can be created using our software. After entering all the data unique to your investment advisory firm in our downloaded software package, use the file > print command and specify the printer name as "Adobe PDF" from the drop down box. This will create a .pdf version of your Form ADV which can than be posted to your website, printed or emailed to a client.

Can I submit Part II of Form ADV using the IARD system?

Form ADV Part II is now capable of being filed electronically through the IARD system. Unlike Form ADV Part I, it must be completed offline and uploaded to the IARD system. Simply enter the information unique to your investment advisory firm in our software and use the file > print command listed on the command bar. Specify the printer name as "Adobe PDF" from the drop down box and create a .pdf file of Part II of Form ADV. You can then upload this .pdf file onto the IARD system and electronically submit the form to the states in which you are registered.

The website is not accepting my credit card information. How can I purchase the Form ADV software?

Make sure you've entered the correct credit card number along with the matching address and 5 digit zip code for that particular card. Confirm also that your computer security settings are not set too high. This may interfere with the computers ability to download another program file such as our software package. Security settings can be checked by visiting the security center under the "Control Panel" file folder on your computer.

After entering several lines of text on one of the schedules to Form ADV, the font size suddenly diminished. How do I return the text to a normal size for ease of viewing?

Simply go to the last text character entered on your schedule and hit the delete key multiple times. This should return the text to its original size. If the problem happens again, repeat the steps as before until the text is returned to a normal size.

I want to try Electronic Form ADV before making a purchase. Can I download a sample of the program before entering my credit card information?

We encourage all end users to download free of charge Form ADV-W before making a purchase. The free ADV-W software is identical in format and usage as the paid for forms. Practicing on the free form should be more than adequate in providing information on whether you want to make a purchase. We do not have available a free sample version of Form ADV.

Can I use a debit card instead of a credit card to purchase the Form ADV software?

A credit card must be entered in order to place an order for our Form ADV software. Debit cards will not be accepted.

After I downloaded Electronic Form ADV, I seem to be having trouble pulling up the form and need technical support. Who do I contact?

We rarely have technical support questions given the ease of editing and printing our Electronic Form ADV package. If you still need technical support, contact us via email at webmaster@electronicformadv.com.

I downloaded Electronic Form ADV but I can't find the file. How do I retrieve the file from my hard drive?

In the future, you should always download the file on a blank diskette located on your a: drive. Right click the start button on the lower left corner of your screen and run a search for Form ADV on your hard drive. Once you locate the file, save it on a 3.5" diskette for future editing and printing.

I need additional space to complete Schedule F of Form ADV. What do I do?

You can download an additional Schedule F of Form ADV from our website free of charge if you run out of space. Go to the "Download Additional Schedule F" page on our website and download the form at no additional cost. Make sure to download the Schedule F on a blank diskette inserted into your a: drive.

Can Electronic Form ADV be pulled up in Microsoft Word^© and edited?

Electronic Form ADV does not require the use of any other software package to run. Form ADV is an electronic stand alone package and not a simple text file that is scanned into a word processing package. Although text can be copied back and forth from our software and Microsoft Word^©, our package does not require any other software to run. Double click on the file that you downloaded and the package will run without any additional software.

Can I copy information from my older version of Form ADV that was downloaded from this website to my new updated Form ADV software?

By opening both the old and new versions of the Form ADV software packages simultaneously, text can be copied from one location to another without retyping. Simply shade the area of text from the older version of our software, right click your mouse and hit the copy command. Enter the newer version of the Form ADV software and right click again at the location where you wish to copy the old text. Hit the paste command and copy the text. As part of ongoing compliance, it is a good idea to review the text before accepting the old information as the correct response to a question on Form ADV.

Does your Form ADV software have a spell checker?

Our Form ADV software does not include a built in spell checker. Text information from a Schedule in Form ADV can be copied easily into Microsoft Word^© and checked for spelling errors. Right click your mouse over the shaded text in our Form ADV software and copy the information into Microsoft Word^©. Run a spell check on the text in Microsoft Word^© and copy the corrected information back into our software.

Does your Form ADV software include various font options including bold and italic?

Our Form ADV software does not include the capability of changing font sizes including bold and italic. Our font size and type is one that the end user can read easily. We encourage all users to download free of charge Schedule F of Form ADV Part II of our software and enter text to confirm the ease of legibility.

Do I need Adobe Acrobat Reader^© in order to view Form ADV?

No. Unlike some other versions that require Adobe Acrobat Reader©, this software is a stand-alone unit. Adobe Acrobat Reader© is not required. After you downloaded the form, double click the downloaded file and it will start without any additional software. Our software program cannot be brought up in Adobe Acrobe Reader©.

Can I run Electronic Form ADV on a Macintosh operating system?

No. The electronic ADV Form is PC based and will not work on a Macintosh system. No other software package other than Windows 95^© or greater needs to be on your computer to use the electronic Form ADV.

Can I order the software package directly by email and have a diskette of electronic Form ADV mailed to me?
The software can only be ordered via the website by clicking the icon on the first page and entering your credit card information through our secure transaction processing page. The form can be downloaded on a diskette on your a: drive or directly to your hard drive.

What features does electronic Form ADV have for the end user?
The electronic Form ADV can be printed out in its entirety or only Part II for clients as a handout. Any changes made to the form can be saved, avoiding the hassle of future editing.
